Safeguarding Education Committee
The WSCP Business Plan sets out a number of priority areas of work for development. These are in addition to our ‘business as usual’ activities, and will typically change every couple of years as they become embedded. For 2024-2025 they are:
- Priority One – Embedding Systemic Practice
- Priority Two – Strengthening the Relationship with the Education Sector
- Priority Three – Embedding Change: Working Together, Family Help, WSCP Structure and Social Work Framework
Strengthening the Relationship with the Education Sector
Schools, colleges, early years and childcare settings, and other educational
providers all have a pivotal role to play in safeguarding children and promoting their welfare. Their insight and co-operation are vital to the successful delivery of multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
In 2023 the WSCP established a Safeguarding Education committee as part of the WSCP to help strengthen that relationship. The priority plan below sets out a number of areas of work we will complete over the coming twelve months:
Safeguarding Education Committee Meetings
The Safeguarding Education Committee will meet termly to discuss issues relating to the sector. Minutes in Newsletter form, to share with staff, parents and the school community can be found below:
